Blackhereford

Black Herefords are a hybrid breed developed by crossing Hereford and Angus cattle and having at least 62.5% registered Hereford blood, black in color and sired by a bull registered by the American Black Hereford Association. Most have traditional white markings of a Hereford but black hided instead of red.

The American Black Hereford Association was established in 1994. The first cattle to qualify were registered in 1997.

In 2002, Black Hereford became a registered trademark with the US Patent and Trademark Office.

In 2003, Black Herefords received international breed designation from the National Association of Animal breeders.

EPD's were established for Black Herefords as a separate beef breed in 2005.

Special THANKS always go out to the ones that bought heifers and bulls. Our spring calves hit the ground and were better than we expected. We are very excited that we had, and are having calves from the most influential bulls in the Black Hereford breed. We had 9 ET Homozygous calves, and many more Homozygous calves as well. Our SPRING calf crop is for sale!!! Our FALL calves are on the ground. If you would like, make your selection early, while they are still on their moms and pick them up after weaning. This is a SURE way to get the FIRST pick. There are some good solid replacement heifers, bulls, and show heifers for sale at weaning. Get them while there young and raise them the way you like them raised. Breed them to the bull of YOUR choice. Triple L has expanded our heard with the purchase of prime bulls (both top sellers from the 2010 and 2009 J&N Ranch auctions) and an entire heard from Wild Rose Ranch in California. Iron Lake Ranch animals, and Polled Herefords from McIver’s Happy acres. Our sale animals are certain to be top of the national market by 2012. Our breeding program is based upon the best possible animals, both bulls and heifers. We have been aggressive in buying the very best cattle. Triple L Ranch will stand out as exceptional breeders of American Black Herefords.
