Blackhereford

Black Herefords are a hybrid breed developed by crossing Hereford and Angus cattle, having 62.5% registered  Hereford blood, black in color, and sired by a registered Hereford bull.

Most have the markings of Hereford but are black in color and have the same docility.

A Black Hereford Association begin in 1994 and registered their first cattle in 1997.

In 2003 Black Herefords received international breed designation from the National Association of Animal breeders, and  2005 EPDs were established for Black Herefords as a separate breed.

About Us

A RARE BREED – Triple L Ranch featured in Landscapes magazine, Winter 2010

Bobby and Jared Lide are active owners of Triple L Black Hereford Ranch along with Bobby’s wife, Deana Lide. The ranch is their family home and business. They have set their business goals high. They are serious about building a top breeding operation specializing in Black Herefords.

Triple L built their herd with Proven Genetics from Hereford, Angus, and Black Hereford Breeders across the U.S.

We have Black Herefords with proven genetics from  Hereford ranches such as  Churchill, Stuber, McIver and Oleen to mention a few. With genetics from these ranches and partnering with Iron Lake Ranch on donor cows and herd bulls, we are the leading Black Hereford producer and have the best genetics in the breed.

Along with our Hereford genetics we use proven Angus sires such as Bismark and Hoover Dam to breed our Herefords. A few heifers from 44 farms, bred to our Hereford bulls will produce great F1’s.

Our goals are set high and we strive to reach them.
